Ways to Reduce Vicarious Trauma Potential
This is a workshop to reset your nervous system and lighten the emotional load of work for those working in any type of service which comes across trauma or overwhelming and hard to hear information about others. This may range from carers, emergency workers, social workers, therapists of any type, lawyers medical practitioners, vetinary front line workers and anyone exposed to other people trauma in a work capacity.
This workshop is designed to help professionals gently release emotional buildup, reconnect with themselves, and reset their nervous system — without the overwhelm of too much theory or clinical speak.
What you’ve got here isn’t just another training.
It’s a real-world, practical and proven approaches to vicarious trauma potential reduction. These methods ha ve been used by military, by therapists and by those working in hard core social work front line jobs such as homelessness and domestic violence and sexual violence. These practical methods are not only proven but they are presented in ways that actually makes sense for frazzled stressed brains.
You won’t find dry PowerPoints or jargon-heavy handouts.
What you will find are practical, creative, movement-based and metaphorical ways to reduce stress and process the emotional residue that sticks around after viewing or hearing traumatic or intense work in your job or after stress build up.
We get it: trauma doesn’t go well with information overload.
So we designed this workshop to be memorable, practical, and grounded in what helps — not just what sounds good in theory. We keep theory to a minimum and actual healing and processing to a practical application. In fact, we don’t even go into the definitions of vicarious trauma, burnout, or compassion fatigue — because honestly, you can Google that. Knowing the difference doesn’t stop the spiral. And it doesn’t heal what’s stuck in your system. You need the tools we teach for that.
We focus on physical and creative ways to:
Reduce the stress load
Process images and emotional residue
Support your nervous system in real time
Learn the ways to recover faster from challenges around vicarious trauma before it reaches blow out proportions.
This is not a PTSD recovery program — it’s designed for people who don’t yet have PTSD, but are starting to feel the cracks, weight, or exhaustion creep in. If you already have PTSD, check out our Trauma Management Workshop, which offers smaller group sizes and focuses on post-trauma recovery and care.
